Abett
Mike Hanlon is the founder and CEO of Abett. Abett operates the Lockbox, a software solution that gives employers a new operating model to manage their benefits plans. The Lockbox is a centralized data hub for a wide array of benefits data, and it puts employers squarely in control of how data flows, and how dollars are spent. Abett’s customers range from smaller firms to Fortune 100 employers.
Hanlon has a PhD in Economics, and he was formerly a Professor of Global Health at the University of Washington. He conducted research in 15 countries across six continents, developed novel strategies to analyze healthcare data, and published award-winning academic research. Early in his career, he was the 7th employee at Amazon.com. He worked at Amazon.com in a variety of roles, but mostly software development, from 1995 to 2001.
Learn how two employers, Prudential Financial and Linde, have revolutionized their approach to managing benefits. Via their use of an employer-controlled “lockbox,” benefits leaders at these companies broke down barriers that previously constrained them. It is still early days, but these employers are on the path to being fierce consumers of healthcare, who secure better care for their populations at drastically lower prices.
