Melissa started her career as a Hospital Administrator in U.S. Air Force performing many different functions including budget oversight, compliance/regulatory audits, medical management, and business analytics. She most recently served as a Medicaid Project Manager with Hewlett and Packard where she was responsible for the management and growth of the Arkansas state healthcare exchange and Medicaid expansion efforts under the Affordable Care Act. During her time with HP, Melissa also managed the Medicaid PCMH program as well as, Episodes of Care. She has worked for both Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City and Tennessee subsidiaries in the health and wellness and Medicare space.
Melissa continues to serve in the rank of Major with the U.S. Air Force Reserve Aerospace Medicine Squadron out of Little Rock Air Force Base. She holds a master’s degree in Healthcare from the University of West Florida, Bachelors in English/Military Science from the University of Texas at Arlington and black belt in six sigma from Villanova. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate with the Medical University of South Carolina – Information Systems and is a certified PMP, CPHQ, CSM, and ITILv3.
