Hope Elliott has over 20 years experience in educational and non-profit program development. She has held positions at Boston University, Howard University and Johns Hopkins University in Admissions and Financial Aid, and as Director of the Upward Bound Program at Norwalk Community College. She also served as the Executive Director of Horizons Academic Enrichment Program, and Coordinator of Child First Extended Learning Program. Within the past 8 years, Ms. Elliott served as the Grants Administrator for the YMCA of Central MD, The Central Florida Urban League, and the Historic Town of Eatonville, FL. Over this period of time, Hope had to prepare several funding proposals in order to sustain these organizations.
In 1994, Hope expanded her grant writing experience when a friend asked her for help to prepare a funding application for HUD – the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development. It was through this experience that Hope realized the need for grant writers, and the wide array of grants that could be written. That was the birth of
in 2010. Since 1992, Hope has prepared over 800 grant applications and secured over $9.3 million dollars for non-profit organizations. The mission of these organizations range from:
Hope holds an M.Ed. degree in Education Administration from Howard University of Washington, DC; and a B.A. in English and Africana Studies from Brown University of Providence, RI. She has recently added grant writing seminars to her repertoire of teaching, which has included computer literacy, financial literacy, first-time home-buyers and life skills. Hope is the proud mother of three young adults, Lance, Micaela and Stephen.
