Dr Andrea Maggioni is the Director of Global Health and Attending in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Miami, FL, USA.
He received his medical degree from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” where he completed the residency in pediatrics and also the Ph.D. in neonatal nutrition. He moved to the USA in 1993 at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY where he founded one of the first Hospitalist program in the country and served as Chief of Inpatient Services. He moved to Miami Children’s Hospital in 1997 and served as the Director until 2004. He was then appointed as “Chief of Pediatrics” at the Bambino Gesu’ Hospital in Rome, Italy, from 2004 through 2006. Back to Miami in 2007 he established the Global Health Division that now serves patients from more than 100 countries across the globe.
Charismatic innovator in the pediatric field, intensely entrepreneurial with proven business development record of accomplishment in the international pediatric arena, his main area of interest are Telehealth Services and Global Partnerships with other Industries by leveraging on the new technologies available.
