Cavities can be treated @$30 using SDF with no pain instead of being drilled-and-filled. Almost every dentist has some SDF. It's a rare dentist that advertises it, though, due to the low price.
If you could automatically receive a 10-20% reduction in costs in three areas/programs, what would your dream list be?
Unneeded medical care in all areas. Unneeded scans. Americans get twice as many as Europeans, with no better outcomes. Unneeded spinal fusions. About half the patients report less-than-good outcomes after 5 years, and about a third report more pain after ten years or need another surgery. And unneeded drilling-and-filling. Tens of millions of cavities don't need drill-and-fill, but patients don't know to ask for SDF.
