Theodore W. Herring (Ted), a Principal in the firm of University Insurance Agency. Ted is the broker of record of numerous large companies across the United States and abroad. Ted’s expertise in International and Domestic Medical tourism has saved his over 15,000 clients, millions of dollars on their health care cost. Ted is a 20+ year veteran of the financial services and medical insurance industry. Prior to establishing his own Insurance and Estate Planning firm, Ted excelled in a variety of Branch Management and Wealth Management positions with First Union, Wachovia, SunTrust, and RBC Banks – working one on one with numerous high net worth individual’ s, Top level professional athletes and celebrities’.

Ted holds the prestigious Chartered Federal Employee Benefits Consultant designation℠.

He travels across the country advising his large group clients on theTop International Centers of Excellence for medical tourism worldwide. Ted and his team of Doctors and medical professionals travel all over the world to inspect every aspect of an International Medical Facilities to seek out the best medical facilities for his clients Domestic and International Medical tourism programs.

Ted is married to Dr. Cassandra Herring, Dean of the School of Education and Human Development at Hampton University. They reside in Hampton, Virginia with their three children. Their oldest son attends Hampton University’s School ofEngineering and Technology and majors in the 5-year Master of Architecture program. Their youngest son is in middle school, and their daughter is two years old (and completely and totally in charge).

Ted is active in the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the National Association of Health Underwriters and the Medical Tourism Association. He serves as the chief Medical insurance advisor to many large corporations, most notably the International Medical Tourism Chamber of Commerce, Payroll and PEO companies, Several Universities and the HUPTIProton therapy center.
