Rae M. McMahan

Vice President, Specialty Pharmacy Programs

Prime Therapeutics

is the Vice President and General Manager of Specialty Pharmacy for Prime Therapeutics. Rae is responsible for specialty products, programs and client engagement. She oversees the adoption, savings and implementation of Utilization Management, Clinical Care programs, network and strategic initiatives for Specialty drugs across the Medical and Pharmacy benefit. She works very close with the Blue Cross Blue Shield Prime Therapeutics owners and clients for development of these programs. Previously at Prime she had responsibility for the Prime Specialty Pharmacy Manufacturer program team, Clinical Development, Reporting and Analytics.

Ms. McMahan has more than 10 years of experience in healthcare, including a previous tenure with Aetna Pharmacy where she had responsibility for Clinical Program and Utilization Management Development, Formulary Strategy, Specialty Analytics and Specialty drug Manufacturer Contracting. Rae’s innovative programs attributed to millions in savings to the health plan for Medical Pharmacy drugs paid under the Medical and Pharmacy benefit. She also worked at Health Net, where she managed preparing and ensuring compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act in the areas of National Provider Networks, Group Contracting, Broker Compensation and Treasury risk. She also played a prominent role in preparing the executive team for the quarterly earnings call. Prior to that she worked for Orlando Health where she was in charge of Administration Management for Cardiac Services and oversaw financial, information technology and contract development.

She has a Bachelors of Science degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Central Florida and a Masters of Business Administration with a focus in Health Care from the University of Phoenix. While attending University of Central Florida she was provided an internship with Adventist Health Systems and Orlando Health.
